Backup and Disaster Recovery Karlsruhe

Backup and Disaster Recovery Karlsruhe. An untested backup is no backup.

We build backup strategies along the 3-2-1 rule: three copies, two different media, one offsite. More important than the rule is the regular recovery test. We verify that restores actually work when you need them.

What you get

Four things we don't leave to chance.

3-2-1 as minimum standard

Three copies, two media types, one off-site. For critical data we add an immutable copy that even an admin cannot delete.

Recovery test, not just backup test

At least once a year we restore a real server from your backup and verify all services come up. So you know what you actually have.

Ransomware protection

Immutable snapshots, separate backup accounts, air-gap where possible. Even if the production network is encrypted, your backups stay untouched.

Cloud and on-premises

We back up both: local servers and cloud workloads (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS). One concept, the same retention periods, one overview.

How we work

What working together looks like in practice.

  1. 01

    Data analysis

Which data exists where, who needs it for what, which retention periods apply? This determines the backup concept.

  2. 02

    Setup

Installation of backup infrastructure, connection of all relevant sources, definition of retention periods and recovery points.

  3. 03

    Verification

First complete backup, test restore of several sample files and a complete server.

  4. 04

    Operations

Daily monitoring of backup jobs, monthly report, annual real recovery test with documentation for auditors and insurers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Backup and Disaster Recovery Karlsruhe

Which backup software do you use?

Typically Veeam for server environments, AvePoint or Synology Active Backup for Microsoft 365, and Synology or QNAP NAS for local file storage. The choice depends on volume and retention requirements.

How quickly can systems be back up after an incident?

A single document: minutes. An entire file server: usually within half a day. A full site after a serious incident: 1–2 days, depending on data volume and hardware availability.

What does a backup concept cost for a mid-sized business?

Typically €80–250 per server per month including licence and management. For Microsoft 365, typically €2–4 per mailbox per month. We always provide a transparent quote before any contract.

Can you run backups on our own NAS?

Yes, but we recommend at least one additional copy off-site. A NAS alone is not a backup concept. It is a single copy at a single location.

When was your last real restore?

Send us your current backup setup, we go looking for the break point.

A single screenshot of your backup console or a sentence on where data ends up is enough for a first take. We show you the spot where a real recovery attempt would most likely fail today.
